The Most Expensive House of 2011

Looking back over 2011, you probably wouldn’t describe the real estate market too favorably. Things weren’t so bad however for the owners of a 25,000-square-foot mansion in the bay area that sold in March for $100 million dollars, far surpassing every other residential real estate purchase in the U.S. last year.

Since most of us won’t ever actually visit a property like that, here are some pictures

Property owner wants to sell, offering $100,000 if you find him a buyer

The owner of 19 acres of waterfront property on St. John in the Virgin Islands will give you $100,000 if you can find him a buyer.

Even with the discounted price tag of $8.5 million, though, this will probably exclude most your friends.

But who knows…
